I am a first time user. I am looking for anyone with experience with tracing headlight issues. My low beams do not work, but high beams are good.

on off switch is good, dimmer switch checks good using a test light.

Any thoughts on next step. I assume trace connectors, as I dont see any fuses down stream from the dimmer switch.

Going to the BAJA1000 soon need some ideas.

PS it is a 1990 Bronco with a 5.8

you know I was thinking about that too....description of the bulb as follows:

SYLVANIA 9004 SILVERSTAR HIGH PERFORMANCE HALOGEN HEADLIGHT BULB -- Low 45/high 65 watts, Dual C-8 filament for both high beam and low beam;

Which would lead me to think that maybe the low filament has gone TU in both bulbs and the high is still working... if so this would definitely qualify for one of Murphys Laws ;-)

did you test for power at the wires plugging into the headlights? there should be a circuit for low beam, one for high beam, so two wires that get power and a ground wire.
