Hi All. I have a problem I need advice on. My Bronco starts and idles fine, but if I give it more than just a little gas it dies off. If I let off it will still idle, and will restart fine if I hold down the gas till it dies. Thanks for any advice. Don

Yeah start with the cheapest and work your way up... like miss kitten said... replace your fuel filter... and have your fuel pump checked out...then if you still have a problem... replace your spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires... i did all mine at one time just to get it done and out of the way... and eventually im going to replace the injectos... but thats later on...

Maybe your getting too much fuel and its flooding the engine. I had a jeep cherokee that had a problem similar to that, it turned out it was getting too much fuel due to an obstruction in the air box (rat's nest). Maybe something in your bronco is getting too much fuel? Or maybe your throttle body has a lot of crap build-up inside of it.

...new idea, maybe your fuel line is clogged somewhere, unless you replaced the fuel line when you did your fuel filter.

Thanks for the suggestions, I dont get another day off till monday, I will look further into it then. I checked for an air leak on the intake first, as that is what it acts like. No check engine lite yet but it just started doing this. i will let you know if i find the problem. Thanks

It turned out to be the coil was shorting out when I tried to rev up the eng. It was corroded on the tower and the wire to the distributor had also deteriorated. once I changed the wire and the coil it ran normal.
