I have a 83 bronco and im just wondering what extra work i will have to do if i put a 6" suspension lift and a 3" body lift on it. I will be getting the parts from the bronco grave yard sight. Any 1 buy from there before and how was it?

I would just suggest doing the body lift first, and then the suspension lift second,

if you are using floor jacks or don't have a trucklift. You should inspect the body mounts and bushings for any wear. The rubber bushings may be cracked, dry-rotted or gone if they are the originals. The mounting brackets should not be rusted out or worn thru. Start with a visual inspection and pre-soak all of the bolts for a few days in advance, especially those on the suspension. Some have Loctite from the factory and 20+ years of rust will make them very stubborn to remove. Check out the bushings there, too, like on the radius arm brackets and rear springs. I replaced all of mine with a whole kit of polyurethane bushings. Check with JBG for those, too. I buy most of my Bronco parts from LMC Truck, so have no experience with JBG. I bought the Daystar poly kit from Rocky Mountain Suspension. Shop around for the best prices.

For the suspension lift, you should be fine with the stock driveshafts and brake lines. You may want to extend these items to give you "peace of mind" for when the suspension flexxes, but check everything out while the kit is going in. All I did for the brake lines was relocate the mounting points lower down, and make sure the driveshafts did not bind or hit any part of the frame or front cross member. Check the pinion angle of the rear driveshaft so it goes straight in or it's at zero degrees. Might need a shim to adjust that.

For the body lift, extend the shift linkage for the transmission, and the steering shaft needs to be extended. You might get by with the stock transfer case shifter, but it may hit the floor so that you can't get into 4-LO. IN that case, it needs to be modified. You'll also have to address the gas filler neck, radiator fan shroud, and bumpers.

i'll second justshootme84; for my 3" bodylift, i had to weld an extention in my steering linkage and cut the fan shroud, i eventually took it out anyway cause i dont need it for my elect. fan, i also cut the floorboard for my shifter cause i couldnt get into 2hi. everything else like the filler neck, and wiring was ok. for my 6" suspension lift, i got new radius arm and axle pivot bushings. i would greatly suggest doing the same. i put extended brake lines on but i'm not sure i really needed them but they're there. driveshafts are ok, no issues at all or me but you may have to do the wedge thing to get the angles right. the only issue i had with either lifts was when i did my 6" suspension the wheels were \ o / really bad but i expected that. the only reason i called it an issue is because i couldnt drive it on the count of the camber being so far out soi had to get it towed to an alignment shope. good luck and have fun B)
