I know, who can't use an extra couple of inches right? Anyways, I am thinking of putting some 33's on my stock '93 Bronco, and I am wondering just how much of a lift I should go with, and I hate to say it, will be the cheapest for me. ( I am getting ready to move, so I need a quick fix.) Looking for at lest 2 inches ... any hints, tips or suggestions?

The cheapest lift would be a body lift ($100), even though I don't like them. Next step would be the 1-2" leveling coils ($200) up front and 1-2" block under the rear springs. I don't like those either, as you can have alot of trouble with frontend alignment.

My suggestion would be to test fit the 33's and the wheels you want to use them on before doing any lifting. They might fit your stock suspension, or you may only need to move the front bumper forward 1/2". This will be O.K. for street use. If you plan to do very much offroad driving, then a 4" suspension lift ($450) would be the best choice for the 33's.

What is the best way to move the bumper foreward? I assume just make or purchase some kind of shim for the bumber stops?

TO move the front bumper forward, you can place a couple of flat washers on the bumper bolts between the bumper and the frame mounts. I would only go about 1/2" maximum, so you still have plenty of thread left on the bolts for the nuts to hold the bumper on. You can also trim the edge of the bumper with a cutting wheel to clear the tires. I've seen that done where you don't even notice it.

Thanks, I was just wondering if I could throw some washers in there myself.... glad to hear that someone else has tried it and it works. I was going to cut it at first, but I figure it might look a little more "purdy" if I don't involve power tools.... thanks

OTOH, I could use a couple less inches on my rig. Is there anything bad about removing a lift kit from a Bronco to get the machine back to factory specs and maybe performing a lil better? Would it cause irreparable damage to the body if removed. I know the steering might work a bit better

No problem removing a lift kit, as long as you reduce the tire size back to 33" or less.

Well, the rig has the stock tire size already. There were 32's on it when purchased but they were all cracked up and had tubes in em. Put stock winters on cause we get snow in these parts 7 months of the year (LOL).

Yeah Shyguy how much for the lift kit and waht all does it intail is a body lift or the full suspension lift get back with me please??

my bronco fits 33s on it with the stock height and would probably go with 35s if i give it 3 inches of lift. in my opinoin if you want to do a lot of offroading and want to baja, get 38s... they are the most versatile tire size ive found for offroad uses. you will just glide right over anything.

i ran 33/12.5 stock. but stock wasn't enough for me even though it's my dd.

Depends on your wheel offset. I had 32x11.50x15 on my stock wheels and rub at full lock. My friend has 33.12.50.15 on 15x10 AR Wheels no rubbing. Both trucks have the stock suspension.

BTW, same 32x11.5x15 on 15x8 AR wheels.... No rub!

a daystar leveling spacer kit ( about $95) will give you 1 1/2" -2" in front and get rid of the factory rake. you will need to get some superlift camber cams ( goes up to 2 3/4*) to get back in alignment. most adjustable cams from the parts store or alignment shop only go 2* and that left me about 1/2* off still. i wouldnt mess with a full suspension lift on a ttb truck, especially a cheap one. if you wanna lift it someday start scroungin for parts now and do a straight axle down the road. definately spend the extra cash for a lifetime alignment and put new axle pivot bushings in before you get the alignment done if theyve never been replaced. remember also the bigger tire away from stock size you go the more power and gas milage you will lose do to the relation of the ring&pinion to the tire diameter unless they are regeared to match the tire height. my daily driver is a 96 f150 and ive leared firsthand about why people dislike the ttb, stock its great and will take major abuse (jumping intersections, ditches, being on motocross tracks, etc..) but it will not stay in alignment and only gets worse when lifted. i started messin around with 79 straight axled trucks instead.
