Looking for some input, if you have a lift i'd like to hear what you think. i have an 88' with the i.f.s. front and would like to lift it. i'm torn between 4" & 6" lift, whats better? drivability, handling, on and off road manners, and last but not least THE RIDE? which is actually very important as mine is a daily driver... any other input is welcome. oh and this is not a ******** wheeler>

with i.f.s you want to stay with a 4" lift at max anything higher will cause you to have ball joing and suspension problems. If you want higher then a 4 go get an SAS and get some Dana 60's

I agree run a 6" because it is going to ride the same as a 4" but the key is to have the right size tire. You will not have problems with your ride until you get into the bigger lifts. Also you will be able to run larger than a 35" later if you do a body lift.

I have a Rough Country with the 4" lift on it right now and have been pretty happy. It has the brackets with extra hole to switch to 6" with only having to replace the front coils and add 2 inches in the back. Mine rides very good with the 4" and my alignment is dead on. I originally planned on upgrading to the 6 inch, but I think I will go with a 2 inch body lift instead just for the safety of the alignment I have now. I don't want to go over 35" tires because of the TTB front end so a 2 inch body lift with my 4" suspension is all I'm going to do. Just my $.02.

Go with the 4.. If it is your DD and not hardcoring offroad.. Why spend the money???... Looks like you are going more for the "look" of it.. Which is cool. 33's with a 4in lift looks killer.. Still get decent mileage..

that does look great (NICE RIG!)

yea thats right i am going more for the look than anything. thanx everyone for the input i'm still a little up in the air about it, but got some good ideas, i was hoping to get the six and run 33"s ( iknow i don't need six for 33"s but just like the look, so i think i'l get one thats a 4" with the extra whole's in the brackets so i can try the 6" and if i don't like it or can't alighn it right i can put it back. as for the S.A.S. that's more work than i wan't ot do on this rig, and it also coprimises the ride. thanx again everyone for the help..

hey man i run 36 swamper tsl,s on a 3 inch body lift ,that only costs 80 bucks and it handles fine but i have a little rub on my 84 bronco.but if were to lift mine, i would go to solid axle less things to go wrong.all my sources say its easier to install a solid beam than lift ttb.

good luck with it

yea the sas is a good idea, BUT leefsprings are going to compromise the ride, which is something i'm not willing to do. I drive this truck about 40 miles each way to work and back. How about this? Does anyone make a coilspring kit for an 88" sas? If it comes down to it, and i have a choice of a BUCKINGBRONCO with a lift or my comfortable ride and no lift, i'll take the no lift!

You have the option of either leaf springs or coil springs for the front straight axle swap (SAS). Most of the ones I've seen are in fact coil springs. If you want mega flex with the SAS, look at a custom coilover-shock set-up.

hey man

my uncle parted out his 79 bronco that he bought new but let the car cancer get it. he put the sas under his 88 ttb bronco and said all the bolt holes where there he just cut the rivets and used bolts with locknut washers and locktight to put it back together . he says he likes the ride better now and i sould do the same to my 84 bronco and with no lift it will hold 33 no rub

good luck with it
