i am plannin on putting a 3.5 inch lift on my 72 and have not decided what kit to get yet but need to kow how much a "professional" install of a 3.5 kit should be to help me decide. Of course i would do it my self but my dad as cool as he is says that the suspension is to important to risk install errors. Also how much would it cost to lengthen my drive shaft if that would be needed?

Thanks

Josh

I like Duff's 3.5" suspension. Its a soft ride and handles well off road.

I ran Wildhorses coils at first and thought they didn't felx enough so I got the Duff's long travel coil and their 70/30 auto adjust shocks (one shock per corner). The lift is easy to install. The only thing to worry about is forgetting to tighten a bolt and install the radius arms correctly. Half the shops out there don't even know how. Thats where the bronco lean problem comes from. Got to keep them equal when tightening up. Just drink less beers in the process and you should be fine... ;)

hey thanks for the reply. I probably wont spend quit as much money as it looks like you have on my kit i'll probably end up with the one that uses add-a-leafs in the rear but i'm more of a mud guy anyways. so i could do the install my self (i'm pretty proficient with this stuff) and you would even recomend it?

thanks again!

Hey broncoholics do you think the add-a-leafs would be a good idea have have heard mixed opinions about them i wouldnt be lookin for exceptional flex i 'm mainly a mud trail guy but i just dont want to get somethin thats gonna end up saggin in a month. I"m 17 so gettin the 11 pack i would have to same up quite a bit more money ...

Yeah, I hear that, new leafs are $500/pr. I don't like add-a-leafs because it gives a stiff ride in the rear and you loose flex. You wouldn't even need shocks with those installed but they are cleap and will not sag if you do. If you add a raised block under the leafs then you will have the height you want and same ride quality it has now but will sag over time. A block will require traction bars due to axle wrap. If you are muddin you should have traction bars anyway. Duff has some nice long link traction bars you should check out.

If the leafs are shot then go with the add-a-leafs for now. Stiff suspensions work well in mud pits.
