Need to know if I'm missing something. I've got a '96 with the tow package; all stock. Had to replace the rear spring brackets and shackles due to rust. For some reason, the spring eye bushings that Ford says should fit are too small for the front part of the springs (bushings we were given are 1 1/2" in diameter and the eye fits about a 1 3/4"). Ford says all the Broncos and F150s use the same bushings (even though they're different part #s). Anyone else run into this? Thanks in advance.

are your leafs 3" wide?

saw this info; may help in getting Ford Parts person closer to finding correct PN.

80-96 Bronco, F150, F250, F350 with common frame shackle bushings KF02009 $36

80-96 Bronco, F150, F250, F350 with molded-in frame shackle bushings KF02017 $38

at http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/W_poly_Fo...&%20Shackle

then found this:

"NOTE: Two basic leaf spring types are used by Ford. By using the identifying illustration details above, choose the proper bushing set as noted in the listing charts shown below"

"Molded-In" Rubber Style No Outer Metal Shell

&

Common" Rubber Style With Outer Metal Shell

see pics here:

I just ran accross this post as I have been having the same problem with the spring eye bushing size. I looked at the links and according to them I have the right Energy Suspension (4.2114) bushing kit. My 95 Bronco has three inch springs with the "common" style bushings that have the outer metal sleeve. I removed the old rubber bushing and before even removing the metal sleeve (like the instructions direct) I noticed that the new bushings fit loosely even in the metal sleeve. If I remove that sleeve they will be even more loose. Does anyone have any recommendations?

To add to this I just realized that my shackles are molded in and the spring is the "common" style. My assumption would have been that the shackle bushing would match the rest.

So I answered my own question and now have the correct kit on order. So if anyone wants a brand new Energy Suspension rear spring and shackle bushing kit (common style) send me a PM. All you will need to cover is shipping.
