My 90 302 bronco makes a large knock or shudder when it is driving, it moves the whole car and feels to be coming from the back of the vehicle. You can feel it shake once at any speed. It feeld like someone is making a hard take off when it does it.

hmmmm. a couple of things that come to mind is drive shaft u-joints or the slip joint is bad. could possibly be the ring and pinion though your gonna have to crawl under the truck and check it out. And remove the rear axle cover to inspect the gears :)>-

possible but not likely. u said it feels like it is coming from the back of the truck so that is what i went by. the transmission as u well know is under the middle to the front of the truck but i cant be sure not being able to see the truck. so maybe a better expnlation would help. :)>-

For this to be the reason, you would have to have some pretty bad leaf springs, but it also sounds like it could be spring wrap. That is usually noticed when sticking your foot into it from a dead stop. It results in the drive shaft angle being too steep to a point that the U joint can't handle the angle. I guess I would check out the rear axle mounts as well as the U joint, and possibly the double Carden joint right in back of the transmission.

Good luck,

:)>-

all the back crap is stock and it sounds to be a universal.

 Then replace it and in the future, make sure you **** the slip joint, and universals when greasing the truck.
