As most of you know i have a 92 eddiebauer bronco with the 5.8l.

my problem is that when i start the truck my tach imediatly jumps to 2200 rpm. the engine itself isnt reving high just the tach is jumping. if i rev the engine over 2200 it works fine and properly. when i shut the engine off in falls back down to 0.

anyone with this problem or knows whats causing it?

oh also the tach is the stock tach inside the dash.

You either have a bad Tachometer or a bad connection. The tac signal comes right off the ignition coil (-) by a soldered connection at the Ignition suppression Resistor. diagrams of the relevent circuits attached. It's a strait forward circuit.

Just for grabs a picture of one of the cars at the East Coast Nationals last weekend a 37 Ford Coup.

Good luck,

:)>-

Sure did :D . What an event. There were hundreds of antique, classic and Hot rods there. It was held at the largest county fair grounds in the state and the whole place was packed old cars and trucks.

Here are a couple more. a 1922 and 1932 Ford Pickup
