J shifter

This is a stupid question, but I have an EB with an automatic transmission and a J shift. When I am driving on the road, should the J shift be in 2H or neutral. It doesn't seem to change the way it drives.

Not so..., that would be the one that ISN'T asked.....

You're not stabbing neutral, or it wouldn't go forward.

The answer is 2 high.., but, I would guess your "J"shifter (or its mechanism) is in need of attention.

I have a J shift too and it was really sloppy. I couldnt even get it to go into gear sometimes. I took apart the pivot point in the shifter and found that the pin and slot the pin rests in were worn out reall bad. If you look at the shifter there is a cup that it goes through. That peice unscrews and the pivot is in there.

Sounds like it is either time to buy a twin-stick setup, fabricate your own, or find some replacement parts!

Any twin stick "I have found better then the J shift" plus you can always drive home in front or rear wheel drive depending on what you might break as far as axle shafts or joints and two wheel low is great!!!
