I HAVE A 1990 BRONCO .. I WAS WONDERING IS IT EASY TO REPLACE THE AUTOMATIC HUBS TO MANUAL... LOOKS LIKE TO ME THAT THE MANUAL IS EASIER TO DEAL WITH .. BECAUSE ON MINE THE HUBS WERE STUCK AND FINALLY I MADE IT WORK .. BUT IM THINKING IF ITS CHEAP I SHOULD JUST REPLACE IT TO MANUAL HUBS... WHAT DO YOU THINK? ALSO HOW MUCH ARE THEY?

ALSO IS THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT SUPPOSE TO BE ALWAYS ON EVEN IF YOUR DISENGAGED??

Manual hubs are much more reliable than the factory automatic ones. Piece of cake to install if you follow the instructions that come with the kit. Here is a link to one store ( http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.as...ubs%20%2D%204WD ) just to give you an idea of how much they cost. You can probably find them somewhere else, I only include this to give you an idea of the price. You may or may not need the conversion kit depending on which version of autos your truck has. I put the Warn premiums on mine a few years ago and have had no troubles.

Make sure that your hubs are disengaged and the transfer in neutral or 2WD then set the parking brake. Crawl under the truck and try to turn the front driveshaft. If you can turn it easily, its ok. If not, there is probably a problem somewhere.

One last thing, turn off your "caps lock", typing in all capitol letters is the internet equivalent of YELLING AT PEOPLE. Or so the younger people I work with tell me!

I'm in Iraq right now; 6 months into a 12 month (I hope!) tour. At least this time I'm assigned to a Brigade Headquarters so I spend most of my time indoors and have pretty much unlimited internet access.

Never get tired of hearing it, a pat on the back from home makes it a little easier to get up and back in it each morning. I'm with the 89th MP Brigade, but dont worry, I haven't written a traffic ticket in 3 years.
