Good morning!!! My name is John and I live in Louisiana, I've had my black 1989 Eddie Bauer full size for about 3 years now. Unfortunately it's got a thrown rod and has been sitting on the side of my shop for the past year (well since trucks gone wild which was in April 2013). I always have 4 or 5 projects going on at the same time so it's been hard to get around to working on it but yesterday I ordered a new motor for it so hopefully I'll have it going by the end of next week.

Now for my question, I've also decided to do a 6" susp. lift with extended radius arms and I want to know what width 35's I need for the factory wheel or if I need to get different wheels with a different backspace. I don't want any rubbing and I'd like a little bit of clearance. Thanks for any info you guys have!

If you go to a place like Tirerack.com http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=35X&ratio=12.5&diameter=15&performance=ALL  and search on the tire, like 35x12.5 15 you will get a list of tires.  At the bottom of each description you will see a button for "specs".  click on specs and you will get a chart of all the measurements and min-max safe wheel size they can be mounted on.  Also is listed the actual width and diameter when mounted on a wheel with a 10 inch rim width.

Good luck,

:)>-

I wouldn't recommend trying to stuff large tires on wheels with rim width narrower than the minimum spec listed as that voids the manufacturers warranty which means that if you pop a tire off the wheel and have a serious accident, you are on your own when the law suit comes in.  Just sayin

With a 6" lift you shouldnt have any clearance issues or rubbing.  I have a 6" suspension lift with a 3" body lift, extended radius arms, 35x12.5x15 BFG's on 15x10 wheel.  Personally, I think this wheel/tire combo looks the best.  Tires dont look too wide with a wider rim or too "bubbly" with a rim with lesser width.  One thing you may want to consider when jumping up to a bigger tire is possibly having to change the gear ratio due to the weight of the larger tire.  I have a slightly modified 351w, and I havent really had to deal with that issue.  The guys on here know everything, so im sure they can give you more input. I still have the 3.55 gears, and I dont have a problem.  A couple of pics to wet your whistle!!
