there is a small metal rectangler cam attached to spedo cluster.this gives a pulsig 3.5-7 volts to gauges.there are black-green wires that go to each gauge.from the ivr(inst voltage reg).fuel temp oil.gauges.to test for power, remove wire from temp sender.connect a voltmeter one side to ground, other side to wire going through dash to gauge.if you see the voltage ,ivr is fine.if no voltage check those wires on gauges.by the way do not use teflon tape on senders, temp oil.the wirre to otherside of oil is white/red.temp is red white.fuel is orange.oops!to check for voltage as mentioned above turn ign switch to accessory.also you can go to seabiscuit68.tripod.com/details.this site has all the wireing diagrams for all years,(66-77)early broncos.

This problem occured when I did the body off restoration on my 66 Roadster. The problem was traced to the lack of a good ground between the frame and the chassis. I added ground straps at two points, one front and back, between the tub and the chassis and the problem went away.
