i just bought a 93 bronco. the gas gauge is inaccurate, is the only why to check/fix it is to pull the gas tank off. and how hard is that to do?

Most likely the resistive stuff on the float is worn out or you have a bad connection someplace. Unfortunately the only to fix it is to take the tank off and put in a new sender unit. Removing the tank isn't that hard, but consider you are working in a hazardus area and one spark could ruin your whole day and perhaps your future. If you are going to do it wait till the tank is empty, run it dry and give the fumes a chance to evaporate.

Myself, that is a job I let my mechanic have all the fun with. It'll cost you a few bucks but you don't have to worry about gettin fryed.

Good luck,

:)>-
