I have discussed this before with broncojoe about my truck going nuts one day. Well, now, I tried to start it one day and I got nothing. The battery is brand new. The door chime was playing a tune of its own. And there was this clicking from under the dash near the steering column. I turned the key to the on position and touched the terminals for the selenoid with a screwdriver and the truck started. Is this the ignition switch going bad? Now it is starting by the ignition but it's only a matter of time before it won't. After the ignition switch, what's next, the relay? And then on to the selenoid? Someone please tell me how the power runs. And could you tell me if you think it is the ignition switch. Thanks.

if it is the relay then the silenoid wouldnt know the key was on to start it. i had an f-150 that had the tumblers go out and that was the only way i could start it. i would replace the key-ignition. if nothing else youre only out about 6 bucks and have a new one.

A couple of possibilities are the ignition switch adjustment, (the one mounted on the steering column under the dash). The neutral safety switch on the transmission if automatic, or the clutch switch if manual shift. More likely the ignition switch either bad or out of adjustment, (maybe the bolts came loose and it has move out of adjustment).

Good luck,

:)>-
