I've had my Bronco for about 3 months. About a month ago I had an issue where I went to start her up. And she wouldn't start for 3 days. Then just randomly started up. I took her in to have emmissions done and I fail HORRIBLY. I was a 4 time loser. After the emmissions I took her in to a garage and they put her on the scope and her electric choke wasn't hooked up properly. And so when her engine was warm the sensor didn't tell the choke to open up all the way.
At this time they also realized that there were various vacuums disconnected. So I had them reconnect those vacuums. They also told me that I had a california emmissions truck. (I live in Wa.) After I got her back she was running a LOT better. But within 3 days whenever I would start her up and I would have to let the engine run for at least 10 minutes to even be able to put it into drive without her dieing.
Now when I start her up I put her into neutral and let it run for about 5 minutes and I'm able to drive as long as my foot is on the gas when I shift into reverse or drive. And when I stop my foot has to be on the gas or she will die. And sometimes when the engine is cold it will still die.
I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas or previous experience with this problem? I know that my carb needs to be rebuilt. But I'm not sure the problem with the idling when it's cold. Any ideas, comments, concerns... they would be greatly appreciated.
