Is the IAT sensor the one in the lower intake manifold next to the #6 injector? From the stuff I have found I think that's it....and the bottom coolant line on the throttle body, does it have a name or just 3/8" heater hose???? Thx

The intake air temperature sensor (IAT sensor) (12A697) changes resistance in response to changing intake air temperature. The IAT sensor resistance decreases as the air temperature increases, providing a signal to the powertrain control module (PCM) (12A650) indicating temperature of the incoming intake air. On a diesel and MFI engine, the IAT sensor is installed in the lower intake manifold and in the air cleaner tube on SFI engines.

IAT will have a connector with 2 wires. looks like it plugs right into the intake tube. to remove it, unplug it and pull it out'

a dirty one will look like this:

Codes 112 to 114 will set a IAT sensor code in the EEC, remove and inspect the sensor it could get contaminated by engine oil , K&N oil or dust. Clean the sensor with isopropyl alcohol. If the sensor still fails replace the unit

Coolant is for preventing throttle blade freeze as mentioned, but it is also vital for cooling the transmission oil. Everybody ignores that fact and wonders why they smoke their transmission a few tens of thousands of miles later.

Top hose goes to the filler neck, bottom is the coolant source from the metal fitting that screws into the intake manifold (look where the heater hose and ECT sensor go, there's a 3/8-inch ****** on it).

There is ZERO coolant flow through the radiator if the thermostat isn't open. Also, your torque converter isn't locked in stop-and-go traffic. Having a bunch of stagnant water sitting around the oil cooler isn't going to help cool the oil if the water isn't moving..."

========

Here is what I did to remedy the problem.

First I removed the old rusty pipe and tapped the hole with 3/8 pipe thread then I went to ACE Hardware and purchase pipe fittings and made my own tubing.

It works like a charms.

I have replaced all the coolant hoses, thermostat, thermostat housing and the water pump. I should be good shape for my trip to Zion National Park later this month.

Thank you all for your feedback.

Sincerely,

my1990Bronco

So on these engines it is a ACT instead of a IAT? Got a can of break parts cleaner to clean the TB with too

Ok, so back to my first question (as my bronco is a 1994) what is the location of the IAT?

yo,

Sorry about not clearly answering your Q

IAT sensor on the 94 is located on intake manifold near the #6 runner. It screws in the intake manifold itself

I got it, thanks! Old sensor (1994 OEM) was nasty! Any good ways to clean the intake without removing the upper and lowers???
