is it the u joint or the rear end i heard this moaning sound the whole ride and at some points of the trip my truck would start vibrating and shaking alot over and over any ideas

Did you fix your front end yet? Start with thinking its a u-joint, cheaper and less stressful to think about. Another thing to look at, are you sure the hubs were unlocked? That would cause your problem as well. Don't trust memory, sometimes kids like to lock the hubs in just for fun.

9 times out of 10 its the rear u-joint (axle end). Some times the pinion yoke or t-case yoke can get loose and since the rear driveline is off anyway might as well check them.

I've seen worn gears/bearing make lots of noise due to no fluid or very low fluid level.

Check all these on the double! If that rear driveline goes on the freeway you can get launched pretty good.
