I havn't had mine long enough to be able to play with 4x4 yet, so I can't say from personal experience, however the manual says that you can shift in and out of 2 hi and 4hi at any speed. One has to come to a complete stop to go into 4 low.

When shifting from 2hi-4hi I try to keep my speed under 20mph or so. I know, I know plenty of guys like to yank that stick while tooling down the road at 50+ but I grew up with NP205's and that $hit just don't fly with gear-drives. Might be that it's just fine with the BW1356 but I figure keeping my speed reasonable when shifting isn't hurting anything. Shifting into or out of 4lo I *always* come to a complete stop and usually have better luck getting it to shift if I'm in neutral.

Broncobill's right, although the book says "any speed" I wouldn't do it at highway speed. In fact, if you are in conditions that warant 4x4 you shouldn't be going terribly fast anyway.
