they stopped using the cleveland motor in the early70's/late 60's. what year is the truck? IIRC, the cleveland uses 6 bolts to hold the valve covers on, and the windsor uses 8. im not near my truck so i can't give you exact, but its one way or the other. if its a 78/79 bronco, its a M(modified) code motor, any later and its a windsor

The best way to tell is the upper radiator hose on a cleveland it comes right up out of the block and on a windsor it comes straight out of the intake and to verify you have a cleveland and not an M or 400 look at the motor mount bolts where the mounts bolt to the block there will be only 2 going from front to back and the transmission bolt pattern will be that of a 300 six/289/302/351W ( small block ) . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Here we go some pics , I built this one for a ranger Im building its a 1970 cleveland block with a set of the australian heads on it . Heres pics of the motor mount bolt bosses and the water neck coming out of the block and one I forgot to mention is that a cleveland,s exhaust bolts are diagonal and a 289/302/351W are straight across from eachother . Its goona be fun in that Ranger . :D

Did you build that Cleveland 'cause you already hads it, or do you prefer it over a Windsor?

Ive had 5 of those motors first one was in my first car which was a 1973 MACH1 mustang ( LOL great car for high school kid ) Anyway that thing flew and I got more of those motors through the years I just hung onto that one and when I decided to build that 1999 ranger I though man that will be a fun ride to squeeze that motor into so thats what Im doing should be over 400 horse . I do like the cleveland motors because of the power but if I hadnt already had this motor I would have built a windsor for teh ranger because the size of a windsor would have been more convinient . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Has anyone ever made a fuel injection kit for a Cleveland? Last time I heard, no one had.

Not that im aware of you could use a holley projection unit ( not recomended ) or one of those edelbrock multiport kits with the flexible fuel rail so you can put it on anything , I think MSD makes something like that not too . Just didnt want to spend $3000 on it , I guess if you wnated too they did make a fuel injected 460 and it uses the same distributor as a 351C and a 351W is the same bore and stroke so might get away with useing an EEC from a 351W guess it would come down to how bad you want it but Im thinking it could be donr with all stock ford parts . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
