I have a 93 ford bronco w/5.8L 169,000 miles. It becomes hard starting after it warms up. When it is cold it is bumpstart, after getting warm and sitting for a half an hour or so you have to crank on it for a while. It acts like it is starving for fuel. I thought that maybe the fuel was bleeding back into the tank so i replaced the fuel pump. I have also replaced egr valve and sensor, done a complete tune up on it, and it is still giving me problems. This is the first fuel injected vehicle i've ever owned, so if someone can help me with this i would greatly appreciate it

By the distributor plug there is a little square peice that looks like a plug with 2 wires coming out of it you mat have already done this but to check the timing with a light you must unplug this then set your base timing once you get it to where you want if you shine the timing light down there again with the plug back on youll see that the timing has moved . This is because the EEC has control over the timing with that plug plugged in and everytime you move something it will compensate the timing . Im telling you this because with that many miles the timing chain is probably way stretched this can cause it to be hard to start because the timing could be too far advanced . The other thing is cold it starts easy hot it drags could be the starter when there hot the internal resistance goes up and is harder on the battery . You can really tell this if you have headers that are close to the starter . Well theres some things for you to check . Also if you think its a fuel problem cycle the key on and off a few times when its hot and see if it starts easier that way . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
