Horrible day for the bronco!

Well went out and buoght a new alternator..

Truck running great, working like a charm. Got 15 miles down the road with the new alt, and all the lights got super bright, and a horrible noise - Bad alt.

Allstate towed my truck for me for free back to my home, and checkers auto gave me a new alt. I told mine in there to be tested, sure enough it failed. They tested another "new" one..passed. We'll see!

I've gone thru a couple like that before until i got one that worked. hope it didn't fry anything or cook your battery. Offtopic, but i had a dream that your knock was an exhaust leak on the passenger side manifold...

Come to find out.. it was the alternator going bad. The bearing was going out. I bought a new idler thingy, and that put extra pressure on the belt, and made a huge difference, but knock was still there. Alt was makin the noise. Sooooo all good now. Good too..looks like I'm moving to Seattle later this week if all goes well with my over the phone interview /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
