After all this work and money(well over 3000.00 since early 2005)Ive found out my rear end

needs to be rebuilt.I was qouted a price of 1058.00 $$ .I told them to put it back together, after paying

for 3 hrs of diag labor I stormed out.Now what ?Do I attempt to rebuild myself, then sell ,do I sell now before

I put anymore money in it?How do I know what rear end I have in this one?How much do you think I should ask for it if I sell??I Love this truck but I cant afford it anymore.Im probably gonna have to go back to AZ for work I cant find work here in MI.Im not gonna try to pass emissions in Phoenix or spend 90.00$ for every 300.00 of driving.Any one hre in Detroit area interested engine has about 30,000. on it tranny 13,000.

Tons of new parts no leaks now, most electrical works couple of switchs dont, all it needs is acouple switches

replaced, the rear end (still driving it ) exhaust work, paint is peeling on one side and hood. No rust super clean AZ Bronco.Any suggestions on rear end would be appreciated. Sincerly frustrated Broncokenny

You can get a 3rd member (rear-end) fr. a bone yard pretty cheap.

(needs to be the correct gearing though)

Many yards make you pull your own part.....this requires pulling the axles out of the way as well...& removing the pinion nut, etc.

Yours is an 8.8 ......the 9" is a bit easier.

"----How do I know what the correct gearing is?---"

Should be a tag on your diff.

(doesn't hirt to count the revolutions of the dr. shaft compared to 1 revolution of the wheel, just to be sure)

"------What do I tell the yard Im lookn for?----"

Everything you know about your rig.... you want the 3rd. member out of a "like" rig.

Most boneyards are "on-line" ...they will pull/ship one to you for a fee.

I Dont know what year your Bronco is but if you look on the rear end and it has bolts then chances are you have an 8.8 and if its welded then you have a 9". Yes a 9 is better but if you have the 8.8 then you should just keep it in there unless you're planning some magor upgrades to the truck, mainly bigger tires like 38+. If it has the 8.8 You can pick up a full axel meaning the housing, gears axels themselves parking brake cables and if the drums are in good shape keep them too for around $200 or less. I picked everything up for $180 then turned around and got just under $50 back for my return. It's a pretty painless job taking only a couple of hours to do. The best thing is grab a big friend since the rear end is fairly heavy and very okward. Trust me on this one, I did this just a while ago. You can tell what gear a truck has by the sticker that's on the door jam as well but I can't remember what number it is. Someone on this site has to know how to read it though. Keep on keepin' on and fix it and keep it.

Yes there should be plenty of them, this is Detroit the motor city.Plus Broncos have a reputation

for rusting out before there time,up here we use salt on our roads,to melt ice and snow.I just

want to make sure I get a good one that wiil last awhile. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
