I've spent most of the morning looking at posts (search) for this information.

Besides the '81 XLT (351 Winsor/C6), I have 78/79 complete H.P. 44 (hub to hub), it includes the shocks, radius arms, steering assemblies, complete brake system and bottom spring buckets

Here's my questions if anyone help me out with some experienced answers

1. Is the top spring bucket (81) okay to use with the 78/9 springs

2. The radius arms look much longer on the SA vs the TTB Do I need to change/move the brackets back farther on the frame?

3. Can I use the '81 radius arm brackets or need to find the 78/9 brackets somewhere?

5. Do I need to use an after market radius arm (i.e. Wild horses)?

4. Can anyone provide a link to a step by step on this change over?

5. I plan on a 2" suspension lift to clear the 33"s for mild to moderate OHV use.

I have a killer '66 EB for moderate to extreme use. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

6. I read that I'll need an '80+ F350 track bar. Correct? Alternatives?

7. Any steering connections I should know about?

8. I have a fully equip'ed garage with a lift and a home made differential housing jig/trans jack (60+") so I can do 99% of this myself. But I don't want any surpises. I'd like to have everything on hand when I start.

i'll answer your questions.

1) you can use it if you want, but it limits your choice of shocks and it is one cause of severe spring bow because it is infact not parallel with the ground. better and cleaner to use 78/79 buckets

2) you will need to remove the entire TTb setup, including radius arm brackets. the best way to setup your radius arm placement is to hang the axle by mounting the coils, then push the radius arms, attached to their respective brackets, up to the frams. most end up sitting right at or behind the body mount

3) i cant really see why you couldnt, but it would probably be better to use the 78/78 brackets if you can get them. regardless, you are going to have to remove the TTB RA brackets

4) go to Fullsizebronco.com, check out the SAS forum on the message board. smorgassboard of info. but before you ask questions, SEARCH. every single topic you can think of has likely been covered.

5) why do an SAS if you only want 2" you wont be able to clear the engine xmember. its significantly different than the 78/79 xmember. IIRC, the minimum lift amount for the SAS is 4", with heavy xmember trimming

6)false. your probably thinking the draglink (steering link from the steering box). you can use either the STOCK track bar or use an adjustable one, like i did.

7)see above. f-350 drag link is the correct length, seeing as they came factory with a solid axle of very similar track width

8)if you have a welder and something to cut metal with, your set.

the one piece of advice that i highly recommend you heed is to READ READ READ. read as much as you can, gather as much knowledge as possible concerning this. just from your one comment, i'd be tempted to say you dont need to even go through this. The TTB can easily handle 33's all day long, and you simply will not be able to run 2" of lift with the conversion. 4" is coming really close. think about what you really need it for, and the pro's and cons of both setups
