I finallly received my 76 Bronco from South Carolina. I purchased it on Ebay from a Ford dealer. Unfortunately I was not told the Aux gas tank leaks like a fother mucker!!!

The leak appears to be at the sending unit. The rear tank appears to be fine. ( I HOPE!!!!!)

I filled up both tanks. The truck is running and a bucket is underneath it to catch most the gas, but how do I know which way the switch under the seat needs to face, so it sucks from the aux. tank?????

Help hurry please thank you

Ken

Prob. drained down enough by now...

Pull sender (careful., they're tender) & check O-ring ---- also check solder around tube & check sender wire plug for looseness.

The O-ring is actually square.., & the Br. houses have them.

Right now my main concern is which way the switch needs to face to **** fuel from the aux. tank...

I did find 1 forum here that states the whatever the switch on the dash faces the switch under the seat needs to face the opposite direction. I did do that and had it running trying to burn off the fuel, hopefully its sucking from the aux tank and the main.

Thank you for the quick reply.

This Bronco came with a big folder of receipts, some a few years back from the ****** Islands. I have the original window sticker, manual and warranty card (with a metal tag attached)

I've had three...but damned if I can rem. which way for the pointer (should be a plackard there somewhere)

I'm guessing pointer is to the dr. door & handle to the pass. door. (mine's conv. to electric switch)

BUT my main concern is an eng. runn'n with fumes float'n around.

Hate to see an EB burn up. That's why I sugg. shut it off & syphon into a proper canister.

it also should be marked on the backing plate of the valve. I know mine is, I just don't remember which way is which right now.

Sitting in drivers seat, pointer should go to the left towards the drivers door for the aux tank to be used. Pointing to the right is the main!!!
