I just joined this forum after several hours of reading through some of the great information that has been passed around on here.
Anyway, I am from Illinois and I just recently bought a '93 Bronco XLT with the 5.8L and E4OD combo. It came with a pretty high dollar aftermarket alarm system that includes a remote start function, which will come in handy on those bone chilling Illinois winter mornings. The rig has a little over 171,000 miles on it and it is in no way perfect, but it isn't too bad for the area I live in.
There is the typical rust around the bottom of the tailgate, the rear wheel arches, and in the bottoms of the front fenders, but the floors are perfect and solid, rockers are great, and the entire underside of the Bronco has been rhino lined inside and out, so it should stay that way for some time to come. Plus the factory cloth interior looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, which is always a plus.
There are some mechanical issues that need to be addressed, but I'm sure you all will get to hear about those when I start asking questions about how to fix some of those issues in the coming days and weeks. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
This is actually the third Bronco that I have owned. I had a nice '96 Bronco XLT about 10 years ago, and briefly owned a '89 Bronco II a few years ago as well. I have worked on street cars and race cars as a hobby pretty much all of my life, and I am by no means an expert or anything, but I have a pretty good mechanical knowledge and I don't mind getting my hands dirty.
I guess that's enough ramblin for now. So, as I said, I just wanted to say hi to all the members and give you a little background on myself. I'm sure that I will learn a lot from all of you and hopefully I can return the favor sometime as well!!
