Hello everyone,
I've got a project brewing in my head to fix up a 1966 half cab Bronco that has been in the family since it was bought new in 1966 by my uncle.
I'm overwhelmed, I don't have the nice shop or lots of tools to use, but hope to see it in nice condition once again and make a capable off road machine that I could drive to work for fun if I wanted. On the wish list are bucket seats, a lift kit, larger off road tires, and of course plenty of protective bars and racks to go around.
The body is rusted up pretty bad overall, but all the major drive-train is in good shape. It starts and drives, and from what I can tell all it needs to be drivable is a seat, brake lines, and wheels/ tires. Of course I'd like to do it right, and try to get it in as good of condition as possible, so that is going to take more time and money.
Hope to use this forum as a resource once (okay IF) I get started on it. Found the Bronco Graveyard and it's been a big help in trying to estimate the cost of all this and what is available for the early Bronco.
Hope to be asking lots of questions and who knows, once I've worked on this project I may be able to answer some too.
Here is a pic of it taken a while back.
