Hi folks,

I am new to the whole bronco thing, but loving my new truck. I just got it about three weeks ago. It is an 81 with a 351 c in it and runs great. The body is very straight. I am having problems finding some parts for it but I'm manageing.

I am starting to fix it up a bit. Just replaced the door pins on the driver side today and installed a new stereo system last weekend. Took off all that chrome trim along the sides it will probably just get torn off anyway. Next weekend I will be filling in holes, sanding and primering. Eventually, I am going to paint it red with black accessories(lights, grill gard, bush gards, ect). Till then I think primer black will be just fine. :^o .

I am a woman, this is true, but I have many skills when it comes to cars or trucks. I work on all my own cars and I love it. I am a bit of a tom-boy, so this is a very cool toy. And a great project for me. This is my first 4X4, although I have ridden in them I have never driven one. It took me a while to get used to the steering. I am normally a camero or mustang driver. Way tighter steering in those cars. But, the day after I got it i went out puddle stomping and I understood the need for looser steering. Just about ripped the steering wheel out of my hands a couple of times. This may be a problem with the suspension I am not aware of, so if it sounds like it let me know.

So I went puddle stomping and got hooked on the whole thing. Took it out by lake pleasant and went out on some of the bike trails. They were narrow and rocky at some points but never even took it out of two wheel drive. Not many puddles then but there sure are some now. Just have not had the time to go and I need new tires. Any good suggestions on tires would be helpful. I don't want it to be really noisey on the highway but I also dont want to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere.

Well I was out with some friends on friday night and I was telling them, rain or shine the top of this thing is comming off.... Keep in mind I live in a desert that has had rain every day for two weeks. It was supposed to rain Saturday as well. Well, one of my friends took me serious (no one ever does that, its just crazy) and brought over another person and now I am running around with out a top. It is a blast. Couldn't ask for a better toy than this. It's not fast like my camero but have no doubt that i can go over anything. My friend says it is geared too low, says that there is nothing in arizona that requires the truck to be geared that low. This may be, but I do know a thing or two about engines and the lower the gearing the more torq you have to get over things that would otherwise stop you dead in your tracks. I like that. >:) . Sounds like fun. And belive me, if anyone can find a difficult spot to get out of it's me.

You all have a great time. If I don't talk to you or if I never talk to you, have a great summer too.

Sounds like you got hooked by the "Bronco Bug", and that's a good thing. Glad to hear you're having fun stomping mudholes dry. This site will help you find those parts, fix any problems you have, and give you some ideas on how to fix th rig for your driving style. Be sure to post some pics in the gallery, too.

Keep your thumbs outside of the steering wheel!!!
