i have a bit of a conundrum, i curently own a 1980 bronco with a 351 winsor v8 out of a 1976 bronco... im not sure if this post goes in this forum, of the in the tech support for the 70's broncos...that said, the problem.

when i have the truck warmed up and the temp gauge on the warmest setting, it refuses to blow warm air.

when i checked under the hood, i noticed that only one of the hoses is getting hot. the other remains cool.

thermostat maybe?

Which one is hot? Is it the one going to the radiator or the one going to the intake manifold? Sounds like a clogged heater core or hose to me. It might clean itself out if you flush the coolant system.

yes i would def try to either change or clean out that heatercore, my friend had the same kind of problem and he ended up having a pen stuck near the heatercore and it wouldnt let the heat/cool temp selector open up the flap to let the hot air into the vent system, check that out as well if possible

If only one hose is hot, you don't have flow thru the heater core. The design of the 80's heaters allows flow thru the core all the time, even when you have the control shut off. The control only controls the mix of heated and cold air via flapper which you can see on top of the core housing. If both hoses were hot the problem would be in the control.

Good luck,

:)>-

i would probably just replace the core if it's not flowing correctly through it. pretty easy job and you'll be set after that for a while just try to get a quality core- maybe try rockauto.com and see if they have a motorcraft core.

deffinatly a heater core problem i had the same thing happen to me on my old one... but instead of just not getting hot when i really got on the gas smoke would come out of the defrost on the dash so thats what will happen next if you really but the gas to the floorusually if your lucky you can take the hoses off when its cold and GENTLY stick a ***** driver in those holes and it might get the clog out or stick it in the hoses or if you got the cash just replace them all together
