He's my issue, its - 20 out here and my bronco on the way back home this morning was defrosting and what not, but about 2 min into the drive or half way, the windshield started getting foggy again, i was in town so I was only doing like 50km's or like 30mph, then when I got back I had to wipe the fog off the windshield, every 5 seconds or so, and my truck wasn't blowing hot air anymore, it was kinda cool.

It has a new waterpump on it from last spring, a new thermostat from a couple of months ago, I blew into the on side of the heater core and there was coolant coming out. my coolant level was pretty low but I topped it up when I got back and ran it with the cap off for about a minute to try to get any air out, and then topped it up again, I did notice some like foamy coolant on the top when I topped it up the first time.

Last but not least no matter which side I have the lines on the heater core, the line going to the t-stat is hot, and the line that comes from the water pump is luke warm and even cold. I checked the direction in the manual and it says from the water pump and to the t stat through the heater core, so what does that mean?

OKay so it was low coolant level, getting the air buble out of it, and adjusting my temerature control plate at the heater core cause it was stuck half open so cold air was getting in and screwing everything up

im taking a guess here but the foamy coolant might be air and you might have to purge the core. Also you might want to check the cap for signs of wear or a cracked gasket due to the coolant loss

im going to try to answer the last part, if im wrong someone please correct me. the line going to the t-stat is hot because as coolant travels thru the cylinder heads and combustion area it absorbs heat before it goes back to the t-stat. When engine temp is reached the coolant from the head goes thru the intake or heater when activated

if i understand this right ur defrosters were working great than all of the sudden ur window fogged up. right i would be checking the heater core since fogging up the window is the first sign of it going out. If you do this be careful when u take the stuff off to get to the heater core there maybe some antifreeze in there U will now for sure if this is the true there will be hot antifreeze all over the pass. side of the floor board.

Do you smell anything in the cab when the heat/defroster is on ? A leaking heater core will usually give off a maple sugar smell (something familiar, eh ? :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ). From what you describe you could also have a leak in the radiator, water pump or hoses that caused the coolant level to drop enuf so that the heater core wasn't being fed & essentially stopped working. Did the heater/defroster start working correctly after you refilled the radiator ? If it works ok with the coolant topped off and there isn't any odor in the cab then I'd look for leaks in the radiator or hoses and put the heater core itself down at the bottom of the list.
