my mom's 96 bronco with the 302 has a bad "multi function switch" the hazards shorted something out in the dash and they had that short fixed but not the switch. i plan on changing that out switch but the big thing is when the a/c is on smell of something burning, but with the heat no smells no problems. i don't know the 96's as well as i know my 84. my thought is that when the switch shorted it shorted something that feed the a/c side and that wire is burning up......

i hope someone has seen this before.....

thanks

well the folks' bronco had a locked up compressor. as for the hazards...well not to sure. i can't find the relay that controls it all the fuses are good. i think most of the curcuit is in tack, cause the brake amd turn signals go out when you press the hazzards, and cruise control stops. but no 4 ways. are there two relays that control the turn and then the 4 ways or did they go to the one?
