grinding to a halt

hi im new at this posting stuff but i have a 87 bronco 2 that has had a new solenoid battery cable and three or four starters and its going on a fifth the clutch flywheel have been replaced and i got the battery tested today and the alternator tested good i jumped the posts at the solenoid and the starter justs grinds and gets to where it wont turn the flywheel i just know that im chewing my new teeth up help quick i need this car for work can anyone tell me how to correct this other than a quick stick of dynamite thanks yours trewly new boots thanks !!!

Make sure you are using the correct starter. I believe there is a difference between the one in a 302 and the one in a 351. If I remember correctly, it has to do with the gear size.

i agree with killer, when you buy a remaned starter they grind the plate down a little to make it a even surface again. so try shimming it to stop the teeth grinding if not then do like the other post said and make sure your getting the correct starter.

I had a 79 Dodge Ramcharger that would grind the first couple times I would try starting it and then kick over. I took the starter out because I thought that was the problem, but found that my flywheel at flat spots with teeth broken or ground down.
