Been having trouble with my brakes. ABS light and Brake light is allways on. It seems like the rear brakes are not working. Shoes are good and I bleed them. Also I seem to go through front pads quick. I was going to put on the Napa servere duty front calipers, are the fiber pistons better than the metal ones? Thanks Brian

Does this thing have a proportioning valve? If so I can't find it. Bleed the brakes again and it still seems I don't have rear brakes.Plus I still have a anti lock light and a brake light. Please help. Brian

rear drums last about 2 to 3 times longer than front brakes... it could be a normal situation how long are the fronts lasting?? bout 20-30k depending on driving habets and if you tow anything. for the abs light it could be anumber of things such as abs sensor, pump problem, controlunit. see if u can pull the codes from it not sure how on your vehicle but a local brake shop should be able to.

goodluck :)>-

Hey MB,

I know the fronts do most of the work, it just seems like the rears aren't doing any thing. Plus if you lost brake fluid in the front or the rear on my old truck the proportioning valve would shift to shut off the leak and signal the "brake" light. I lost a front caliper and fixed it but I can't get the "brake' light to go off. Thanks Brian

maybe check the brake fluid float in the brake fluid and make sure it's not sticking. does your truck have 4wheel abs or rwabs?? if it has 4 wheel abs the the abs pump does everything.. not sure bout rwabs :glare: i don't think there is a valve

Just rear abs. I got to look at it harder. Thanks for the reply. Do you do any fishing on the Cape? Been there once, great place for fishing! Thanks Brian
