Yesterday i was driving down the road and it started pouring rain...now to understand

this... I just bought my bronco and this is the first time in the rain. I go to throw the

wipers on and....NOTHING..I'm doin 55mph. This poses a real problem so I pull over

and start messin with the switch still nothing so finally i deside maybe one of the wires

fell off the switch if there connected at all so i go to shut the bronco off annd as soon

as i started to turn the ignition the wipers came on??? is this a normal problem? @-) :((

I assume this is a 66-77 Bronco? If so the old vacume wipers **** big time and will need to be replaced unless you can find the leak. I have an intermintant problem to. Its like delayed wipers so it works for me on the trails. No street driving for me. They are electric and I think my problem is in the dash switch.

no this is an 85... i'm not sure what the deal is i've messed with it since and the only way they come on is to turn the switch on then jiggle the ignition switch..I don't know if it uses the same 12 volt source or ground or something but thaat is the only way they work! >

I use to have the same problem. It was because the switch didn't quite return to the run position when letting go of it after starting. It is most likely the switch on top of the steering column under the dash. It may have come a litttle loose or was improperly adjusted. It probably needs to be moved just slightly toward the floor. There is a detailed adjustment proceedure it you need it.

Good luck,

:)>-
