I have a 1988 Bronco with an automatic transmition, tilt-wheel, and the shifter on the column. When I shift the vehicle into gear the indicator on the display that shows which gear I'm in stays on park. How can I fix this problem?
I believe it is the same design as the 80-86. Have you done any work around the steering column, like remove the shroud? If so, you may have broken or caused the nylon thread that controls it to come off the stud it attachés to. If you broke it, you will have to find a new one, probably at a junk yard. If it ca,e off the stud all you will have to do is to reattach it. The position of the stud is adjustable to get the indicator to point at the proper position.
