Got a great 1990 with 302 and AOD. The gas pedal response is slow and to get full rpm I have to press the pedal thought the floor.
I checked the cable at the intake and everything looks fine - springs good, no broken parts, seems 100%.
When I checked the pedal end I see that the cable has about 3/4" of slack that runs though the guide and so the pedal has to move that far before it even engages the throttle.
Wouldn't it be a good fix to just put a lock nut on the cable just beyond the pedal to take out the slack?
