I have a 69 Bronco. Both of the fuel tanks are new and have new sending units installed. Both tanks peg to full regardless. It was like this when I bought it and I am at a loss for trouble shooting. Any help would be great.

Check for a grounded out sending wire to the tanks. Apinched wire can cause this. Check by removing wire from sending unit, power Bronco "ON", check gauge. If still reading "FULL" it is most likely a short (groung) in wire. Trace back to dash. If when wire is disconnected from sending unit, gauge reads "EMPTY" then problem is in sending unit (in tank). Check installation of unit in tank to ensure proper (ungrounded) installation. If tanks are Midwest aftermarket metal tanks, they are terrific about replacing sending units. Good Luck! Hope this helps.

OK Mr. Lyle, where's those pics you promised...? [-( [-( [-( ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

What Lyle said...,

PLUS..., beings both tanks are doing this., wouldn't it be more likely the tank fuel-level (main aux.) switch is wired incorrectly..? (assuming it's still in the circuit)

I'm thinking this is not good for the gages....may be best to de-activate until the prob. is solved.

Thanks! I was able to get both working. One interesting thing. The power lead coming from my fuel guage to the selector switch is not constant. It ticks regularly on and off. But everything is working.
