I ran my '67 for about a year knowing I had some build-up in both tanks (at least pretty sure of it) but just didn't have the time and money to do anything. But I'm coming home from a 15 month adventure overseas, and I've got the money and 10 times more drive than ever before. The problem is, I don't have the knowledge. So here we go:

1-Is there an option to clean out / coat the inside of my existing tanks, or is it more efficient to buy a new tank from Jeff's or Tom's?

2-BC Broncos hard steel fuel line kit is the only one I could find? Good/bad/ugly?

3-Switching to edelbrock 4BRL with intake manifold kit, opinions of this one?

4-With edelbrock 4BRL, do I need additional pumps? I've got the stock engine mounted manuel pump already installed, will that be enough? I've heard putting some high dollar pump on will only flood the edelbrock, is this true? Should I be concerned about possible gunk already inside of the engine mounted manuel pump?

5-I also read that I may need a low-pressure pump, accumulator, and high pressure pump, is this true? Thoughts on this setup? I've got the spot for the low-pressure pump, but where would I put the accumulator and high pressure?

6-Any other issues that I am possibly missing or things I should be concerned about with the gunk-filled tank?

I appreciate all of your time, and once I get back and get the work done, I'll let ya know how it turns out.

-Will

Future topics: Wild horses power steering kit versus jeff's extreme duty power steering kit, bearing problems, and rear disk conversion (but these are all down the road a ways)

Will.., THANKS for your service...protecting us at home...!!!!!

Here's what I do.., clean the bottom of the tank...if it's smooth (no rough lumps or other signs of rust thru) then talk to a good radiator shop. They can boil out the tank..or.. show you how to do it at home. Either way.., easy/cheap job.

(Your aux. tank is plastic...that's easy to flush out.)

Un-hook the fuel line at the firewall or the first place it changes fr. plastic to rubber hose....and un-hook at the tanks as well. even at the switch valve.

Squirt some carb. cleaner in a fuel-line...then blow thru with the airhose.

do this to all the fuel-lines..change out bad rubber hoses & you're good to go.

That plastic line is pretty much "bullet-proof" if it hasn't been messed with.

...easy

I put a clear filt. at the exit of ea. tank.., then a clear filt. before, then after the fuel pump.

Your fuel pump should be fine...the new filt. aft. the pump will show that.

"....With edelbrock 4BRL, do I need additional pumps?"

No

"Switching to edelbrock 4BRL with intake manifold kit, opinions of this one?"

I prefer the 2 brl. myself..., but, watch out for hood clearance.., & linkage can be an issue.

"I also read that I may need a low-pressure pump, accumulator, and high pressure pump, is this true?"

No

Worst thing one can do is poor the fuel system cleaners in the tank....especially if it actually works..!!

Tanks are easy to pull. the old filler-neck hoses are the hardest part..but very doable.

Have fun with that Will.., should clean up & run fine for years & years.

P/S ...good idea.., & allows a smaller S. wheel

Wheel bear. & king-pins are a priority

I think it's front disc B/4 rears
