So I just bought a 1990 full size Bronco from an older man.

1. The fuel tank is leaking a steady drip... so first question- will an F150 or F250 tank work on the Bronco?  My local salvage yard has F150s and F250s...

2.  Same question with the radiator cause mine has a small crack somewhere...

3. Lastly is the throttle body... it appears to have a new MAF sensor on it but it is not plugged in... when it is plugged in it takes off to massive high RPMs but then when I plugged it in, it cannot stay running without me nursing the gas... so, you guys think I need a new throttle body?

Yo j,

WELCOME!

The 90 did not come with maf.

Maybe it is the map sensor?

Or

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)?

Read this to help ID the various sensors and test.....

http://web.archive.org/web/20130916075630/http://oldfuelinjection.com/?

And

http://broncozone.com/topic/23243-maf-sensor-is-bad-how-do-i-know/

Also do Try a Self Test for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s by my pal, BroncoJoe19

http://broncozone.com/topic/25114-check-engine-light-goes-on-and-off/?p=131701

The engine temperature must be greater than 50° F for the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test and greater than 180° F for the Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test.

Run it around to heat the engine up and shift thru all gears incl Reverse. Then turn off all accessories/lights, etc.

Make sure A/C is off and transmission is in Park (automatic) or in Neutral for a Manual & release clutch.

Do Key On Engine Off (KOEO) portion first.

Radiator is usually same size..some are part of the super cooling package, so they are generally thicker.

Fuel tank in 90 bronco is 33 gal

F series are different size (s)

See..http://shop.broncograveyard.com/Fuel-Tanks/products/95

Of course, someone probably has swapped one in, somewhere...but I haven'the seen one done.

I would buy a new tank. They are inexpensive at about 100 bucks. A salvage tank is likely to be full if rust.

If you buy a used radiator, you don't know what you have until you pressurize it. These are also 125 at autozone or performance versions start at around 200.

As for the senso, I am not too familiar with efi on ford trucks of this era. Could be throttle position sensor issue but I'm no expert.
