I have moved this actual question from my intro from last night. Thanks Bully Bob for your response. I'm a novice at best at this forum stuff.I have a question about the gas tank switch valve. The guy i bought her from said it was bad, and would leak fuel in the floor board if i put more than a couple of gallons of fuel in her. He also gave me another switch valve to use. I just took it apart, and found that it also is bad. ( See attached pic.)

My question, is why does'nt someone make a replacement diaphram to go into the brass valve? It seems pretty simple to me?

All i have been able to find online, is after market valves, that look nothing like the original.

Any Thoughts?

Bully Bob, I will wait for you to post your answer here before i continue with more observations, and questions. Thanks again.

Hi JACK welcome..!

Not sure if maybe they did something diff. in '77 but that doesn't look original.

The orig. had two inlets & one outlet..!!

Actually I prefer the elect. ($39) switch-over valve. You can actually wire it to work off the dash (fuel gage reader) switch. There-by having to move but 1 switch.

http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com to see all valves & switches.

BTW while you're there., insp. ALL the rubber fuel lines..!! If you have one long enough., cut a couple inches off., cut a slit long ways in that piece & spread it open & see if the inside is rotten.. Mine were, & junk was moving up stream to the filters & carb.

If they're bad repl. with GOOD quality that can handle the funny gas these days..!!

Put a see-thru filter off ea. tank., or at least 1 before the pump..., & another just before the carb.

Thanks Bully Bob

Sorry i dropped of the face of the earth. Hard drive crashed as i was trying to respond to you last week.

I have 2 of The tank switchs shown in the picture, the guy i bought the 77 from has 2 other broncs. He said the other one he gave me was from one of those. They are identicle???

I like the idea of the electric one, but my dilema is weather or not i want to do an original restore. As i mentioned it is an uncut 77 with original Blue paint w/ wht. top and interior. Any advise would be great. any links to sites that would help me with an original restore. I can drive her know. I need to address the tank switch issue, and the front tank has a leak. I will replace the fuel lines as you suggested. The carb needs to be rebuilt. Just looking for some direction.

Thanks

Sounds like a fun project... :D/

Do fill in your sig. & profile pages on this board so as to rec. accurate advice....as it appears you'll have more questions in the near future. (see mine below & to the left)

This info. eliminates multiple guesswork., & can be up dated at any time.

Don't know where you are but all the major EB stores have the orig. manual dual tank valve.... & the piece-parts to freshen up your tank(s) as well as most every other part, new & used.

Bronco graveyard is in the No. East & offers a discount.

Toms is on the left coast, as is Wild Horses., & there's several others.

They ship world-wide.
