Pull the tank, use a screwdriver and hammer to unscrew the large ring. Pull out the sending unit/ pick up tube, replace and use some vasoline on the rubber gasket so when reinstalling it doesn't pinch, twist or cut the gasket.

I had a leak in my tank. I replaced the O-ring, and it still leaks. Any recommendation? My next step was to use silicon gel.
