Hello there, I've looked for an answer, but can't seem to find any, but I've got a 95 XLT, and went to replace the fuel filter, and there are some special fuel line connectors going to & from the filter. No clamps, looks like they just push on, but they don't pull off. Is there a special tool you have to use?? I don't think you can just cut the fitting off & use clamps, because the fuel line is a braided steel line.

Any help, or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!!

There's a tool you can buy at pretty much any auto parts store for probably $5-$10. It is to semi circles and use a scissor type action. You place one of the half circles on the line and then close the other side, slide it up under the lip on line and push on it and pull the fuel filter out. It works pretty simply. You'll find that same type of clamp on a lot of Ford cars and trucks. I have one that fits my Taurus, Explorer and the Bronco.

This is the one youll need for the fuel filter, if you wantt o remove the ones that go to the engine you need the bigger size on. Expect this to be a bitch to remove. (id recommend soaking the spring in some pb blaster) DSCF0070.JPG
