Im running an electric fuel pump on my Bronco. Its been that way for over a year now. For some reason the fuel lines wont stay primed. Ive made sure theres plenty of gas in the truck. About ten gallons. Ive primed the lines a few times. Ive switched fuel filters out. Ive taken the fuel lines apart under the drivers side door and used an aair compressor to blow out the lines both ways. The lines are made of metal everywhere except right beside the engine and in the check spot below the driver door... and in the fuel filler neck. Any ideas why Im having this problem? Thanks

Are you running an electric fuel pump with a carb? If so you need to have an external fuel preasure regulator between the pump and the carb and a check valve between the pump and the tank. Closer to the tank is better

If you have converted from FI and are using the same fuel lines that is the problem. Fi runs off preasure in a fuel "loop" that runs fuel from the tank to the injecters and back to the tank.

Good luck Let us know how you make out.

Yeah, Im running an electric pump on a carb. I was unaware I needed a check valve. Whats its purpose? Any specific valve and regulator you suggest? Thanks again

Summit and Jegs has tons of check valves and adjustable preasure regulators. Some are pretty reasonable, just be sure you get an adjustable reg. Don't want too much preasure going to the carb. About 7psi max.

The check valve is to keep the fuel from running back into the tank. Most pumps have an internal check valve. Yours may not or it may be damaged. There are some repair kits for some fuel pumps. Even with an internal valve sometimes you need an external valve, depending on the placement, size and length of the lines, fuel pick up placement, etc. Make sure you get one with a low preasure opening setting say 4 0r 5 psi. Most will have a range around there to as high as 1000psi. Find one that works with the space and lines you have.

Do you know what preasure the pump your running? If it's above about 15-20 psi I reccomend plumbing the set up with AN fittings, rather than rubber line. Especially before the regulator.

The check valve should be placed as close to the fuel tank as possible.

Good Luck
