I want to install a Dann 44 Trac-lok using a 3:50 ring gear, can this be done and do i need to do the complete set up procedure or is it just R&R of the carrier and ring gear.

You can run a trac loc if you want but you will have to take off the ring gear to install it. If you know how to set up gears go for it. I used to run one years ago and seemed to do OK but I'd still have only one tire spin up front but that could be do to the 38's I run. When I upgraded to the Detroit it was a huge difference in traction. So if I were you, get a Detroit up front and be done with it. No need to be unhappy with a cheap posi and have only a slight increase in traction than now.

Its your choice...

With the dana 44 there is also a carrier change that you must account for . If your gear ratio is between 2:72 and 3:73 then you need one carrier if its between 3:92 and 5:89 then you need the other carrier . So lets say you find one on ebay really cheap and it had 4:10 gears on it it will do you no good if you want to run 3:55,s But on the good side of that is that most people want the 4:10 or lower so you should be able to find one that accepts the 3:55,s pretty cheap . Kinda like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...7948015765&rd=1 :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
