I have a 71 with a c4 dana 20 and a 3.5 inch lift dana44 with the 7 degree bushings and stock radius arms. my problem is i purchased a toms bronco parts front drive shaft and at ride hight its already maxed out the double cardon. im not sure where to go besides a high angle drive shaft. i have not found too many people with this problem at this lift and even called wcb and they said it shoulld work at this angle. its 25 degrees at ride hight and 30 drooped out. any input would be great on what to do or similar experiences would be great.

OUCH..!

Wow..! That's a true wonderment..??

Using a crude carpenter square., the most my angle is, is 10-12deg. (Measuring straight out fr. the front drive yoke, wheels on the ground.)

I have a 2.5" lift. One more inch lift wouldn't add more than 1deg. if that.

The scary questions are;

Who did the C-4 transplant?

Did the V/8eng. come with it, and/or was it orig. an I-6 ?

T-case crossmember/rear mount?

Was all this done correctly? (within factory spec.?)

Who did the lift...are the C-bushings right-side up. ?

What's the dr. shaft angle at the front dif. yoke. ?

BTW., what's the angle like on the rear dr. shaft. ?

Its originally a v8. I have no idea who did the tranny swap it aperars that the tranny and t case were from a donor bronco because its a j shift. On your bronco how far does the transfercase drain plug hang below the bottom of the frame? Also my front output is cocked upward 5 degrees is this normal? I measured this with an angle finder on the face of the front yoke on the t case. I am suspect that the rear crossmember bushings could be too tall or the motor mounts bushings too tall My rear drive shaft is ok but will be even better when i shim the rear end.

"On your bronco how far does the transfercase drain plug hang below the bottom of the frame?"

Right at 2" maybe slightly less. (using a straight-edge off the bottom of the frame.)

"Also my front output is cocked upward 5 degrees is this normal?"

I would say NO.....my front & rear output shafts appear to be parallel to the ground & the frame.

I think you're on the right track.... Might need to crawl under another EB & take some measurements/notes. This just doesn't seem right.

Also., I have a new "DAYSTAR" trannie/transf. mount set. (Too lazy to install) Actually, mine don't look bad.

Anyhoooo.., They're 1 1/4" thick (2 large ones) And, 7/8" thick (2 small ones)

Large ones on top...small ones, bottom.

Oddly., they're marked, on the package "MANUAL" ..!!

I don't know of any diff. manual or auto in any sales cat.

Do let us know what you find as a solution..!! >:D< <'>
