I know plenty of people have swapped in mustang 5.0s into their broncos. I'm wondering if anyone has had success with the wiring harness from Fordfuelinjection.com? I've been checking out their site, but of course their going to make their own product sound better than everyone else.

I just put a down payment on my 427 windsor today(only 16 more payments, and she's all mine). I've already got the computer picked out(AEM), but I want to talk with someone whos had success/problems with the harness from fordfuelinjection.com. My other choice(actually my origional choice) is the setup from Painless Performance.

Any help would be great.

Theres enough info on fordfuelinjection.com to make your own harness all the wiring diagrams are there and they even sell all the conectors you will need to make your own . I think they get like almost $400 or more for it but you should be able to get a used harness off a car in a scrap yard and just remove all the wires you dont need going to the computer all the wiring diagrams are there . So if you can read a wiring diagram you could save yourself alot of money . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

No you didnt miss anything they do have there own harness but there all over $400 what I was saying is that if he can read an electrical print and has the time he could save himself a buttload of cash to spend on other things for his truck . Alot of junkyards well around here anyway have no use for the harness out of the vehicle it takes too long for them to pull it all out without cutting . So it doesnt mean much to them if your looking for one you could tell them youll give them $20 and youll pull it out I have done this youll be out there for a couple hours but then you know how it was run and where everything goes and you save over $400 . ford fuel injection also sells all the connectors in the harness if you wanted to make your own . An electrical print is easy enough to get and all the plugs have a number by the pin. So like pin 12 on the ECU goes to injector number 3 as the positive 12 volts ( this is for a 1986 speed density ECU ) So if you had the computer connector and a diagram and a roll of 14 gauge wire you could very easily make your own harness its like connecting the dots , Not hard to do at all once you see the diagram and you can eliminate all the things you dont need in the harness . A factory harness has alot of wires in it that are not needed to support and EEC IV . The outrageous price they charge for the aftermarket wiring harnesses is crazy you are paying for the convienience . If you are not good at reading an electrical print you may not want to tackle this as your first attempt but I think anyone that can follow directions can do this . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I really do appreciate everyone's do-it-yourself mentality. The problem is, I'm spending $12k on an engine, and don't trust myself with the wiring, so I'll happily pay for convienience, but I don't want to pay for something, and have it be the weak link, that's why, I wanted to talk to someone that has used the product, to see how well designed it is/isnt, and any issues that they might have had.
