i work in a garage so it makes maintaning and or modifying my truck easy but the parts look-up program we use asks wether or not my 88 has the" snow package " or not seems to come up with tires brakes and suspension so far and it has got me wodering what it is considering i live in buffalo ny snow capital of the northeast

The snow package consists of a HD suspension and quad shocks up front. There may have been something else, but it escapes me at the moment.

probably also has a bigger alternator. my dad's 2004 dodge ram has that package and it comes with heavier duty suspension and shocks up front, and a bigger alternator.

I think you're probable talking about the "tow" package or a "snowplow" package.
