F-150 Airbag light

Ok, i took a buddies 99 F-150 to schucks and ran the OBD2 scanner on his truck cuz the airbag light was on, now it came back clear. ive heard ppl say something about clocksprings and shorts in the circuit, now is there anyway to tell what could casue it to come on but not pull a code.

Did you check all the fuses? Those systems are designed to kick that light on even if power to the srs computer is disconnected. Also check the inside of the firewall for signs of water leaks. The F series and expeditions from that era had a tendancy to leak at the windshields, letting water short out the body control module. Theres a start.
