dumb question but i don't want to buy a whole set of torx bits right now and i'm not one of those guys who can look a nut or bolt and tell right off what size it is.

i just got my replacement external hoop mirrors from JBG and was hoping they were installed with the same torx that the originals were so i could bring the bolt somewhere and get a single bit but, the replacements use standard bolts.

anyone know offhand the torx bit size to remove them? or maybe i can fit an allen wrench in there to remove them.

That would be a T-30, atleast that is what mine is. On a couple of mine the weld nut is loose and if I have to take the mirror off, it is necessary to remove the door panel.

Good luck,

The panels are not hard to remove if necessary. You will only have to do that if a weld nut has broken free.

thanks guys you were right on. T30 it was! i bought a cheapo torx bit set at advance for like $9 small torx up through T55. easiest upgrade i've done yet. thankfully no broken nuts! i used the original torx bolts that were on there. looks a whole lot nicer now.

If it's big enough, I use allen. Guy I bought a mirror off of CUT THROUGH THE SHEET METAL! Used a T-30 because my bro had them handy. But I use allen if no torx handy.
