Headers tend to run hotter than stock manifolds. By using header wraps, you will lower the temperature in the engine compartment. I don't really know how much lower it will be, but it will be lower. Lower temperature = cooler, denser air = more HP/mileage. Like I said, I don't really know how much, but every little bit helps.

Ive also heard it makes them rust out FAST and voids warranties on most of them with finishes.

The rust thing is something I didn't know. The thing about the warranties makes sense, though. Speaking of finishes, they cost a lot more, but you can get headers that are coated with heat reducing finishes that reduce under hood temperatures (according to their manufacturers). They would be easier to install than trying to wrap them and (I think) they would look better, too.

yeah it voids the warranty, but who is going to know that you put wrap on it? and even at that, if its a bronco, then it dosent run all that hot anyway. i wouldnt worry about it. just get the headers, and then if you decide the wrap is for you then get it!
